The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority — in coordination with ride-hailing companies Angkas and Joyride Philippines — distributed on Tuesday grocery packs to motorcycle riders at two locations in Quezon City.
The provision of gifts to selected riders was led by MMDA acting chairperson Atty. Don Artes, assistant general manager for Operations Asec. David Angelo Vargas, Traffic Discipline Office Director for Enforcement Atty. Victor Nuñez, Special Operations Group-Strike Force officer-in-charge Gabriel Go and representatives from Angkas and Joyride PH.
Artes said the activity is part of the agency's "ticket or treat" project which aims to give back to disciplined motorcycle riders who follow traffic laws and regulations.
"We will apprehend riders who are violating traffic rules and regulations but we will also give them grocery packages for the Christmas season," said Artes.
Meantime, 1 Rider Partylist Representatives Bonifacio Bosita and Rodge Gutierrez were also present at the gift-giving activity and showed support for the agency's project in ensuring the safety of motorcycle riders especially this holiday season.
