Senator Christopher "Bong" Go is pushing anew the approval of Senate Bill 188 or the Department of Disaster Resilience Act which seeks to create a focused agency dedicated to ensuring the creation of communities that are adaptive, resilient to disasters and secure.
This, as the senator — along with Mayor Alexander Bryan Reganit — directed his Malasakit Team to further assist recovering typhoon "Paeng" victims in Maitum, Sarangani recently.
"We need to be better equipped and prepared to face these challenges. That is why I am urging my fellow lawmakers to prioritize the passage of SBN 188, which will establish the Department of Disaster Resilience," said the lawmaker.
A total of 26 typhoon victims received shirts, grocery packs, vitamins, masks, snacks, and balls for basketball and volleyball from the senator. Select recipients were also provided with a watch and a pair of shoes.
