One hundred eighty illegal Chinese POGO workers were deported to China, Thursday morning via Philippine Airlines flight PR336 bound for Shanghai at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1. The deportation was carried out by the Department of Justice and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission.
According to the authorities, these 180 undesirable Chinese nationals were caught working at the Smart Web Technology POGO hub without proper immigration documents.
Those Chinese deportees were brought to NAIA Terminal 1 on board four buses from Smart Web Technology Corp. They are part of the 731 workers, including 7 Filipinas, who were rescued from an aquarium-style viewing chamber of a massage parlor on the 2nd floor of the said hub.
Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission Chief Gilbert Cruz led the deportation of Chinese nationals in coordination with the Bureau of Immigration back to China.
It can be recalled that the combined forces of PAOCC, NBI, DOJ, and PNP raided the building on William St. in Pasay where Smart Web Technology Corp. operates and discovered illegal activities such as illegal gambling and prostitution, where several Filipina and foreign females were rescued. The authorities also discovered 'torture chambers' inside the building.
