The Regional Peace and Order Council-National Capital Region reported on Monday that Quezon City continue to experience lower crime rates with the Quezon City Police District's extensive crime fighting efforts.
RPOC-NCR, headed by its Chairman, San Juan City Mayor Francisco Javier Zamora, conducted the 2023 Fourth Quarter Full Council Meeting in Greenhills, San Juan City on 7 December 2023.
P/Maj.Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., Regional Director of the National Capital Region Police Office, several city Mayors of NCR, various local agency heads and government security group directors participated in the event.
During the meeting, numerous safety measures were also discussed, including crime statistics and assessment for the lat two months of the 3rd Quarter and the first two months of the 4th Quarter of 2023.
The RPOC presented the decrease of eight focus crimes for the whole NCR. In Quezon City, cases of Physical Injury decreased from 40 to 35 incidents, Rape from 36 to 29 incidents, Robbery from 93 to 54 incidents, Theft from 225 to 147 incidents, and Carnapping for both Motor Vehicle and Motorcycles from 9 to 4 and 37 to 18 incidents, respectively.
QCPD Director P/Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan expressed his gratitude to RPOC-NCR for recognizing the efforts of the city police force.
"Magpapatuloy ang aming tapat na serbisyo dahil hangad naming ang kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayan ng Quezon City. We ensure the public safety of every individual especially for the upcoming yuletide season", he said.
