The Department of National Defense will remain vigilant and observant of the security situation in the country amid this year's holiday celebration, DND Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. said at a Thanksgiving event on Thursday night in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
"Asahan po ninyo kami po ay patuloy ang aming pagmamasid at pagbabantay upang sa ganun, ma-assure namin po ang publiko na kayo ay magkakaroon po ng matiwasay at makahulugang and makabuluhang pasko at bagong taon (Rest assured we will continue to monitor and be vigilant so that we can assure the public of a safe and meaningful Christmas and New Year)," he said.
Teodoro underscored that the security sector, including the Armed Forces of the Philippines, will be relentless in monitoring and foiling possible security threats to ensure that Filipinos will have a meaningful Christmas season for all.
"'DI po kami magpapahinga, at magbabantay po kami laban sa mga natural and man-made calamities at dangers, bente kwatro-syete po ang aming pagmamasid at nakahanda po kami sa lahat ng oras na tumulong sa mga ating kababayan na nangangailangan s (We will not rest, and we will be on guard against natural and man-made calamities and dangers. We will remain vigilant 24/7 and we are ready at all times to help our fellow citizens in need)," he said.
