The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority is deploying 1,000 personnel to manage traffic flow during the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival Parade of the Stars on 16 December in the CAMANAVA (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela) area.
MMDA acting chairman and MMFF overall head Atty. Don Artes announced the deployment of traffic enforcers, road emergency units, public safety personnel, and related services.
"This year's parade of stars will be special as it will traverse four cities for the first time in MMFF history, allowing more people to see the casts of the 10 official film entries," Artes said.
"With this increase in spectators, we have prepared a comprehensive traffic management plan to minimize disruption," he added.
The parade will feature decorative floats carrying stars representing the 10 official entries: "A Family of 2 (A Mother and Son Story)," "(K)Ampon," "Penduko," "Rewind," "Becky and Badette," "Broken Heart's Trip," "Firefly," "GomBurZa," "Mallari," and "When I Met You in Tokyo."
The parade will begin at 2 p.m. from the Navotas Centennial Park and travel through C4 Road, Samson Road, and McArthur Highway, culminating at the Valenzuela People's Park. It will cover a distance of 8.7 kilometers and is expected to take approximately three hours.
