The Philippine National Police disclosed that its operatives arrested two individuals believed to be involved in the robberies which occurred at the Skyway recently.
Police said that the arrests were made based on two search warrants issued by Executive Judge Carolina Icasiano-Sison of Metro Manila Regional Trial Court, Branch 18, on 1 December.
In a separate report, the National Capital Region Police Office identified the suspects as Anjo Sardoma and Joland Cabotaje and initial reports revealed that Sardoma was arrested in his condominium unit in Malate for illegal possession of explosives and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Meantime, Cabotaje, his cousin, was arrested in his house in General Trias, Cavite.
The arrests were carried out by personnel from the Regional Special Operations Group-Regional Intelligence Division, NCRPO, Anti-Terrorism Section-RID; Philippine Navy, Malate Police Station and and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-Special Weapons and Tactics.
Operatives disclosed that during the arrest, Sadorma tried to escape by breaking the glass window of his condo unit but was pursued by the blocking force positioned within the perimeter of the condominium building but was cornered and arrested.
