Authorities reported that an individual believed to be a drug peddler was arrested during an anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by Substation 9 personnel of Taguig police.
The suspect — identified as alias Alex — was nabbed by police during a sting operation and will be slapped with charges for violation of Republic Act 9165.
Initial reports said that the arrest took place at approximately 2:40 a.m. on 5 December 2023, along MLQ St corner Samaba, New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.
Law enforcement officers, engaged in a routine foot patrol in the area, stumbled upon the suspect who was found in possession of two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with an approximate weight of 30 grams valued at P204,000.
The seized evidence was taken to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative analysis while the suspect is currently detained at the Station Custodial Facility of Taguig City Police Station.
