No matter how hardworking, no matter how good the leader is, if you are not hardworking and not good either, we cannot do everything we need to do to help our countrymen.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Saturday celebrated Christmas three weeks early with the employees of the Office of the President.
Speaking at the annual celebration of OP Family Week, Marcos thanked the Malacañang staff for their contribution to his administration's accomplishments since he assumed office in June 2022.
"Many, many thanks to you for the past year, for your efforts, for your diligence, for your talent so that we can provide good service to the people," he said in a speech delivered at the Kalayaan grounds at Malacañang.
"No matter how hardworking, no matter how good the leader is, if you are not hardworking and not good either, we cannot do everything we need to do to help our countrymen," the President said.
The Chief Executive said that OP employees deserve to relax and spend time with their families as he lamented that they had little personal time because they tended to overwork.
"We know that we make you do a lot of things and sometimes the work hours are long, that's why maybe once in a while, we should make it up and give you a little pleasure, especially for your families who don't see you anymore because of your jobs," he said.
"For us who lead the Office of the President, everyone here, this is our way to thank all of you, for the wonderful work that you provide."
10 houses in raffle
After delivering his speech, the President, with Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, drew the winners of a raffle for the OP personnel.
Bersamin picked two winners of a multipurpose trike each, while Marcos picked the ten winners of housing units from the National Housing Authority.
Marcos also toured the booths, which offered various government services, free medical consultations, and affordable food sourced directly from local farmers.
Family Week, spearheaded by the OP and the Social Secretary's office, aims to extend gratitude to all the staff who play an indispensable role in nation-building, supporting the President's mission to provide people easy access to public service.
The two-day event also allows all employees and their families to come together.
A free concert featuring singer Bamboo was open to the public and held along Mendiola Street around 6 p.m. on Saturday.
OP Family Week is an annual event initiated by the late president Fidel V. Ramos in 1992, initially in September.
