The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology is expecting aftershocks after recording a magnitude 6.9 earthquake in Surigao Del Sur on Saturday evening.
In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor, tectonic in origin, hit at 10:37 p.m. with its epicenter tracked at 8.52°N, 126.69°E – 042 km N 66° E of Hinatuan in Surigao Del Sur.
Phivolcs recorded Intensity V in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur and Cabadbaran City in Agusan del Norte.
No damages have so far been recorded, said Phivolcs.
