The Taguig Police on Sunday disclosed that there was indeed no foul play on the reported deaths of two female students who were found inside a public school in Taguig City last 10 November 2023.
Taguig Police chief Col. Robert Baesa also revealed that the families of the two female students have accepted their explanation over their untimely deaths last Saturday.
To recall, police reports showed that the two students — aged 13 and 15 — were found dead at about 11 p.m. on 10 November inside the Girls Scout Mini Office on the third floor of Magsaysay Building of Signal Village National High School in Barangay Central Signal.
The next day, the Taguig police issued a statement declaring that based on the initial evidence, no foul play was involved in the deaths of the two female students.
Authorities said that the initial evidence gathered by the Philippine National Police-Taguig and the Scene of Crime Operation did not indicate foul play even as their deaths triggered posts on Facebook, calling for justice for the two students.
Baesa, meantime, said that the police are awaiting the results of the police's crime laboratory or forensic unit investigation.
Meantime, the local government of Taguig expressed its sympathy to the families of the two victims.
"The City Government assures the grieving families of its full support as they struggle to comprehend this inexplicable misfortune," it said.
Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano has also instructed authorities to conduct a thorough investigation that would shed light on the circumstances surrounding this tragic event as she appealed to the public not to share unverified information on social media regarding the incident.
