Child critical after road crash

BAGUIO CITY — Police reported on Tuesday that a child is now in critical condition while 10 others suffered various injuries after the jeepney they were aboard lost its brakes and collided with an SUV on Monday night at Sitio Bubon, Virac, Itogon in Benguet.

According to the Itogon Police, the child is still under treatment at a hospital.

Initial investigation showed that the jeepney driven by Jeffrey Mendez of Itogon, Benguet took off from Baguio City when it experienced mechanical malfunctions. The jeep then ran uncontrollably and collided with the SUV driven by John Paul Simeon Mayao, also a resident of Itogon.

The victims were rushed to the nearest hospital to receive medical treatment.
