Former PACC commissioner feted

A former Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission commissioner was recently given the distinction of being a part of 75 Greatest Men and Women of the Universidad de Zamboanga during its 75th year anniversary.

Atty. Manuelito Luna was recognized for his notable accomplishments and service to the nation and the world and received a Medal and Certificate of Recognition last 7 October 2023 at the UZ City Campus in downtown Zamboanga City.

Luna passed the 1996 bar examinations with a General Weighted Average of 85.2000 percent and was one of the youngest lawyers to be admitted to the practice of law in 1997 at 26 years old.

He is also a 2001 grantee of the U.S. Department of State for the program "U.S. Judicial System" and attended lectures and seminars in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Texas, Missouri and Louisiana.

"Despite all the official honors, recognitions, accolades, title and grant conferred to me by institutions of higher learning, the City Government of Zamboanga, the Philippine Air Force, and the U.S. Department of State, respectively, as well as high positions held in the national and provincial governments, it never occurred to me that after 33 years, I will be honored here," said Luna.
