Go assists recovering Negros fire victims

Senator Christopher "Bong" Go provided support and livelihood assistance to 23 families affected by fire incidents from Ayungon, Mabinay, and Siaton, Negros Oriental last Thursday, 9 November.
Held at the Lee Super Plaza, Dumaguete City, Go's team distributed snacks, shirts, and balls for basketball and volleyball to the beneficiaries.
Separately, the Department of Trade and Industry, through its Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa program which Go earlier advocated for and continues to support its implementation to help micro-entrepreneurs recover from crises, provided livelihood kits to qualified beneficiaries.
Go pushed for DTI's PPG program to help boost the livelihoods of communities affected by crises. He continues to support the implementation of the program to help uplift individuals and families, particularly those engaged in micro-enterprises, who have been adversely affected by disasters, calamities and other crises such as fires, armed conflicts, and the like.
Go likewise conveyed his appreciation to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., for the enactment of the One Town, One Product Philippines Program into law. Go is one of the authors and co-sponsors of the measure in the Senate.
The OTOP Philippines Program represents a governmental stimulus strategy strategically crafted to nurture the expansion of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises nationwide. The program places a strong emphasis on harnessing local resources while concurrently safeguarding the rich tapestry of cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, DTI Negros Oriental Provincial Director Nimfa Virtucio acknowledged Go's significant contribution to supporting small businesses in the region, particularly those affected by disasters and calamities.
"We really appreciate that you trusted DTI in implementing the program and implementing through us your vision," she said.
She further highlighted how the government, through Go's initiatives, showed genuine concern and support for small businesses, particularly those devastated by calamities.
