The Covenant Car Company Inc. has officially taken on the role of exclusive distributor for KG Mobility in the Philippines, a move that adds another feather to TCCCI's already impressive cap of automotive brands.
The agreement was inked in the third quarter of 2023, leading to the creation of KG Mobility Philippines.
Ambassador Jose L. Cuisia Jr., chairman of the board of TCCCI, expressed his optimism about the new venture.
"We are optimistic that the local motoring public will respond positively to our portfolio of product offerings, and we are likewise eager to grow KGM PH into a household name for expertly crafted, reliable, Korean-made automobiles," he said.
KG Mobility is no newcomer to the automotive scene. With its origins tracing back to 1954, the South Korean brand has nearly 70 years of experience in SUV manufacturing.
It has earned its stripes as a leading SUV specialist in Korea and has been a cornerstone of the country's automotive industry. On the international front, KG Mobility's reach extends to 126 countries through approximately 1,500 global networks, making the Philippines its latest market.
Ki Young Hwang, executive managing director of KG Mobility Korea, also weighed in on the partnership.
"With our partners from TCCCI, the Filipino motoring public can expect a captivating lineup of new-generation KG Mobility SUVs and pick-up trucks, while providing reliable, customer-oriented aftersales and technical support for a worry-free ownership experience," he noted.
As part of its Philippine market entry, KG Mobility is pulling out all the stops to make a significant impact. Comprehensive brand introduction campaigns are already underway, aiming to position KGM PH as a formidable competitor among the top car brands in the country.
The brand is set to introduce five new products by the end of 2023, each with its own unique selling points. The lineup includes the Tivoli Crossover SUV, the Tivoli Grand SUV, the Torres SUV, the Rexton Mid-Size SUV and the Musso Grand Pickup. These models are designed to cater to a wide range of customer needs and preferences, from the urban commuter to the off-road adventurer.
But KG Mobility Philippines isn't just about selling cars; it's about offering a complete ownership experience. To that end, a national dealer network is in the works, aimed at providing robust sales and aftersales support across the Philippines.
Vehicles will be available at select dealers starting the fourth quarter of 2023, with an official brand launch slated for the first quarter of 2024. By the end of 2024, TCCCI anticipates having 12 established dealerships as part of KGM PH's nationwide network.
