The local government of Quezon City gained several recognitions during the 2023 Urban Governance Exemplar Awards of the Department of the Interior and Local Government — National Capital Region recently.
The DILG-NCR presented the awards to QC for complying with the requirements needed to achieve the Ideal Functional Rating in Local Committees on
Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children Functionality Audit and Local Council for the Protection of Children Functionality Audit.
QC also received a High Functional Rating in its
Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Audit and was also given recognition for its efforts in the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit, Manila Bay Clean-up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Program, and Peace and Order Performance Audit.
Meantime, the Sangguniang Panlungsod was hailed as the regional winner of the 2023 Local Legislative Award for having garnered a score of 99.5 percent.
Vice Mayor Gian Sotto accepted the awards on behalf of the city government along with Assistant Administrator for Operations Alberto Kimpo and other city department heads.
