Lotus Philippines, in conjunction with Autohub Group, recently took the wraps off its latest model — the Lotus Eletre — during the 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit.
The venue for this much-anticipated event was the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, and the summit ran for three days, from 19 to 21 October.
Under the theme "Plug-In and Accelerate," the PEVS served as a backdrop for panel discussions and exhibitions from an array of local and international stakeholders.
Unveiled as an electric hyper-SUV, the Lotus Eletre incorporates racecar elements into its DNA. Lotus, famed for its legacy in performance engineering, has taken a leap into the future by merging its iconic design cues with modern aerodynamic considerations.
The vehicle stands as an epitome of what Lotus aims to achieve in the rapidly evolving electric car sector.
At the launch event, key industry figures were in attendance. Willy Tee Ten, president of the Autohub Group, was joined by Owee Cruz, Autohub Group VP for PR, Marketing and Fleet, along with Jeff Lizardo, Lotus Cars Manila general manager. Completing the ensemble was Katya Zavialova, Head of Southeast Asia Pacific for Group Lotus.
In his address, Tee Ten highlighted the timing and significance of the Eletre's launch. "This launch marks another milestone in the partnership of Autohub Group and Lotus. I am so thrilled to unveil the Eletre, an innovative and progressive electric vehicle, especially during such a momentous time in the local electric vehicle landscape."
Jeff Lizardo emphasized the collaborative spirit that made the launch possible: "I am very proud of the Lotus team, and thankful for the collaborations between Autohub Group and Group Lotus all these years and for making today's launch possible."
Katya Zavialova also underscored the Eletre's role in shaping the future of electric cars: "The Lotus Eletre is a stunning showcase of the future of electric cars. I am so thrilled that Eletre's cutting-edge technology and performance is coming to the Philippines."
The standard Eletre harnesses a power output of 604 horsepower and a torque of 710 Nm, ensuring a riveting performance on the asphalt. Its heart beats with a nominal battery capacity of 111.9 kWh, operating on an 800V architecture, promising both performance and efficiency. The range varies with real-world conditions, but 700 km is achievable in mild weather conditions.
Prospective buyers will be interested to note that the Eletre is available at an introductory price of P9,999,000 for a limited period. Post-introduction, the suggested retail price is set at P10,499,000.
