Ford Philippines has wrapped up its Global Caring Month, a philanthropic endeavor that saw the automaker and its dealer network engage in a series of community activities.
The month-long initiative, which took place in September, involved over 150 Ford and dealer employees, clocking in more than 1,260 volunteer hours across six different activities.
The automaker collaborated with Gawad Kalinga Foundation for farm produce packing and donation drives last 8 to 15 September.
Employees from Ford Philippines and Ford Iloilo dealer were actively involved in these activities.
The result was a distribution of fresh vegetable baskets to over 800 families residing in GK villages in Metro Manila and Lambunao in Iloilo. The initiative aimed to enhance the nutritional intake and overall well-being of these communities.
Parallel to this, Ford Philippines also joined forces with Philippine Business for Social Progress for tree-planting activities.
On 15 September, more than 50 employees from Ford Philippines and various Ford dealers planted a total of 1,875 seedlings of native and fruit-bearing trees in Antipolo City.
This initiative not only contributed to environmental conservation but also provided an additional income source for local farmers and indigenous communities, specifically the Malayang Samahan ng mga Katutubo ng Antipolo City Inc. and Dulhogan Peoples Association.
Over 30 employees from Ford Philippines, Ford Cebu and Ford Talisay dealer participated, planting more than 5,000 seedlings at the Buhisan Watershed Forest Reserve.
These tree-planting activities align with Ford's broader environmental goals, specifically its pledge to plant 20,000 trees in 2023. The future plantings will cover 12 hectares of reforestation sites in Marikina Watershed in Rizal and Buhisan Watershed in Cebu.
To cap off the Global Caring Month, nearly 30 Ford Philippines and Ford Cainta dealer employees made visits to the Anawim Lay Missions Foundation and Mother of Mercy Home of Elderly & Abandoned.
