The Philippine Fleet officially wrapped up its annual Exercise Pagbubuklod over the weekend at the Naval Operating Base in Subic, Zambales.
Fleet Public Affairs Chief, Lt. Giovanni Badidles, said the ceremonial closing of the exercise was graced by PF Commander Rear Adm. Renato David aboard BRP Tarlac (LD601).
"The Fleet Commander lauded all the participating elements as all the exercises were safely and successfully conducted and well executed," Badidles said.
During the closing event, David stressed the need to train troops in operational areas.
"Your exposure to the different capabilities and limitations of other fleet units will provide you a better understanding of the other so that you could adjust and be flexible in order to achieve the tasks," he said.
Exercise Pagbubuklod was organized by the Fleet Training and Doctrines Center, highlighting training where sailors carried out various serialized drills.
It targets to hone the sailors' skill sets in manning and operating the Fleet's modern platforms and air assets, with a view toward the effective and efficient fulfillment of their mandate as the "Vanguard of the Seas."
