Two suspects in a drug sting conducted by the Makati City police had flown the coop after sensing they were dealing with cops posing as buyers of shabu in Barangay Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City.
A report to Southern Police District chief P/Brig. Gen. Mark Pespes revealed that the buy-bust operation was set up following a tip from an informant about the activities of a certain alias "Baliw."
With the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, operatives of the Makati City police drug enforcement unit positioned themselves in the area with the suspects arriving aboard an orange Honda Jazz car.
As the poseur-buyer was transacting with an alias "Michaela," alias "Baliw" stayed inside the car. As Michaela dropped the drug and scampered away, his cohort tried to run over the poseur-buyer with the car.
The operatives shot at the tires of the vehicle, but the suspects still managed to escape. They later recovered 40 grams of suspected shabu, valued at an estimated P272,000.
