Cagayan de Oro City has been chosen as one of the seven local government units to become a pilot area of the United States Agency for International Development Urban Connect project in the country.
CdO's City Information Office announced that the program was virtually launched last 16 October with USAID and city official participating in the event.
The USAID Urban Connect project seeks to help seven local government units in various parts of the country to promote an "inclusive and economic growth" in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
It will also provide P624 million as funds for the five-year duration of the project.
USAID has been helping local governments in the country to promote and formulate their respective economic growth projects.
Other cities included in the Urban Connect project are Batangas, Legazpi, Puerto Princesa in Luzon; Iloilo, Tacloban, Tagbilaran in Visayas; Cagayan de Oro, General Santos and Zamboanga in Mindanao.
