Heavy rains will prevail over Central Luzon due to 'Shearline' while Northern Luzon will be affected by the northeast monsoon or 'Amihan', said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Saturday.
Based on its weather bulletin, PAGASA said shearline will bring a significant amount of rain in the next two days, particularly in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quirino, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Viscaya, Bulacan, Rizal Quezon, and Camarines Norte until Sunday.
PAGASA warned about possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas.
Shearline will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in Metro Manila and Calabarzon.
Amihan, on the other hand, will bring cloudy to light rains over the Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, and Kalinga.
It will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in the Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley, but will pose no significant impact, according to PAGASA.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA forecast wind speed for Northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.
Light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to east direction will prevail over the rest of the country while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said no low-pressure area was monitored inside the Philippine area of responsibility.
