Senator Christopher "Bong" Go is seeking to institutionalize a framework for offering temporary employment to eligible members of underprivileged households in rural regions.
Go said he hopes to achieve this through the passage of Senate Bill 420, the Rural Employment Assistance Program, or REAP, intended for the implementation of the Department of Labor.
REAP's primary goal is to furnish temporary job prospects to economically disadvantaged, impoverished, displaced, or seasonal workers.
Go underscored the significance of safeguarding the welfare of all sectors, with particular attention to those residing in rural areas.
The senator issued the statement during a relief operation in Carmen and Batuan, Bohol for displaced workers. His team distributed shirts, snacks and balls for basketball and volleyball to 548 displaced workers gathered at the Carmen Gym.
