PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — The local government here is now actively preparing for the upcoming second edition of Ironman 70.3 Puerto Princesa, scheduled for 12 November 2023.
Puerto Princesa sports director Rocky Austria said that the local government is highly optimistic on surpassing the achievements of last year's inaugural race and stressed that the significance of Ironman 70.3 Puerto Princesa is even higher this year.
This, as the city will not only host the inaugural Asia TriClub and Relay Championship in the country but will also incorporate additional activities like the Princesa Run, a 5K fun run scheduled for 10 November and Ironkids Philippines, an event specifically designed for young triathletes aged 6 to 15, which will take place on 11 November.
"They have added Ironkids and the Princesa Run, so we will be quite busy. We will really do our best to ensure that we surpass last year's performance," Austria said.
