President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged the Presidential Security Group to continue safeguarding the country and fulfill its sworn duty of providing every Filipino with a peaceful life under its new leadership.
Marcos made the call during the change of command ceremony in PSG as Brigadier General Jesus Nelson Morales assumed the role of the new PSG commander.
"Let us remain steadfast in safeguarding our country so that we can fulfill our sworn duty of providing a peaceful and secure life for every Filipino," Marcos said.
The Chief Executive also thanked Morales for stepping up and taking the new assignment.
He expressed his confidence that the PSG will continue to fulfill its role of protecting this institution under Morales' overall competence.
"I trust that you will fully support General Morales just as you did General Zagala with your hallmark integrity, service, and excellence. Together, let us continue to perform our duties to the best of our abilities," Marcos said.
Marcos also praised Brigadier General Demy Zagala for his exemplary service during his tenure as PSG Commander.
The President highlighted the achievements made under Brigadier General Zagala's leadership, emphasizing the enhanced security measures implemented during various domestic and international Presidential events.
Marcos noted that Zagala maintained PSG's reputation as a reliable institution dedicated to preserving the safety of the First Family, visiting dignitaries, and the general public around Malacañang.
Under Brigadier General Zagala's command, the PSG successfully secured nearly 500 Presidential events, including high-profile domestic and international engagements. Furthermore, he facilitated training programs on VIP protection, benefiting hundreds of PSG personnel.
