The Armed Forces of the Philippines announced on Wednesday that seven of its high-ranking officials will assume new posts as approved by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., noting that the movements demonstrate dynamic careers in the military organization.
AFP Public Affairs chief Lt.Col. Enrico Gil Ileto said these officers duly screened by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Board of Generals following the "principles of merit, fitness, character, and honor" of the military.
Lt. Gen. William Gonzales will leave his post as the Inspector General of the AFP as he will serve as the new commander of the Western Mindanao Command, while MGen. Steve Crespillo will take over the position of Inspector General.
MGen. Gabriel Viray III is expected to command the 1st Infantry Division. He will relinquish his post as Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations to Brigadier General Arvin Lagamon, the commander of the Civil Relations Service AFP.
Meanwhile, former Presidential Security Group chief BGen. Ramon Zagala will be replaced by BGen. Jesus Nelson Morales, the current deputy commander of Air Logistics Command.
Zagala is installed as the new commander of the Civil Relations Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Morales is tacked to protect the President and the First Family, including the heads of State and diplomats, visiting the country.
BGen. Edmundo Peralta officially assumed as the head of the AFP's Intelligence Service following an Assumption of Command ceremony, presided over by AFP chief of staff, Gen. Romeo Branwer Jr., in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City on Wednesday.
The Philippine Air Force likewise said that outgoing wing Commander BGe, Aldrin Annani officially handed over his command post to Col. Loreto Pasamonte, who served as the deputy wing commander of the 300th Air Intelligence and Security Wing.
Annani will assume a new post as the deputy commander of the PAF's Air Logistics Command after Morales is appointed as the new PSG chief.
The Palace is yet to announce the scheduled Change of Command between Zagala and Morales for the PSG chief post.
Ileto said the officer candidates were endorsed through the Secretary of National Defense to the Commander in Chief.
