In its pursuit to modernize and upgrade its fleet, the MIMAROPA Transport Cooperative has taken a big step by acquiring 15 units of the Isuzu NLR77 PUV Class 3 last 6th of October.
This acquisition was facilitated by Isuzu Philippines Corporation, marking a pivotal moment for the cooperative, which operates between Calapan City and Pinamalayan in Oriental Mindoro.
Notably, this is the first time the cooperative has opted for Isuzu, having previously operated UV express vehicles on the same route.
The decision to transition to the Isuzu NLR77 PUV Class 3 came in the wake of an uptick in commuter numbers in the region, necessitating a fleet that could capably cater to the increasing demand.
Moreover, this move aligns with the franchising guidelines set forth by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board for long distance routes, further legitimizing the cooperative's operations.
Albert Cayetano, the Chairman of the Board at MIMAROPA Transport Cooperative, highlighted the reasons behind choosing Isuzu: "We choose Isuzu because of its renowned durability, fuel efficiency and the fact that it is very easy to maintain."
Powering the Isuzu NLR77 PUV Class 3 is the robust 4JH1-TC Blue Power Diesel Engine, known for its durability and ease of maintenance.
The availability of parts across the nation alleviates concerns regarding vehicle downtime, an essential factor for transport cooperatives aiming to provide consistent service.
The vehicle body, crafted by Centro, allows for a comfortable seating arrangement for up to 23 passengers, an ideal setup for long-distance travel, especially within provincial routes.
In terms of compliance and modern amenities, the Isuzu PUV Class 3 is well-equipped. Adhering to the Philippine National Standards guidelines, the vehicles are fitted with GPS, CCTV, Speed Limiter, Dashboard Camera, Wifi, and an Automated Fare Collection System.
These features contribute to a convenient and safe journey for both drivers and passengers, aligning with the modernization ethos of the transport cooperative.
Discussing the sustained sales of their PUVs, IPC's vice president for Sales, Yasuhiko Oyama, shed light on Isuzu's customer-centric approach: "In Isuzu, we listen to our customers, so that we can provide the best business solutions. Considering the route and operational condition of the cooperative, the Isuzu NLR77 PUV Class 3 proves to be the best fit for them."
IPC's focus on delivering quality products paired with exceptional aftersales service is a cornerstone of its operations.
The assurance of readily available parts and the presence of dealership outlets in strategic locales underscore IPC's holistic approach to customer satisfaction.
