

The "corruption" allegations leveled against ex-Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board chairman Teofilo Guadiz II by his former executive assistant will be probed by two panels in the House of Representatives.
The investigation will be conducted by the House transportation and good governance committees.
Manila Rep. Benny Abante called for an inquiry into allegations of corruption in the agency mandated to regulate land-based public transportation.
Antipolo Rep. Romeo Acop backed Abante's motion to pursue a motu proprio probe on the charges.
Acop is the chairperson of the House Committee on Transportation, which will kick off its inquiry tomorrow.
Abante claimed the bribery scheme has been going on for years.
"That's (being going on for) a really long time. I think (since) 2009, I've been already telling them about the corruption inside. But, of course, we are not being heard," Abante said in an interview on Sunday.
Former LTFRB executive Jefferson Tumbado has vowed to appear before the House panels tomorrow after notifying the National Bureau of Investigation that he would not be able to honor its subpoena to appear for questioning today.
Before recanting his statement, Tumbado also dragged.
Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista and no less than the Office of the President into the alleged corruption in the LTFRB.
