The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development — in partnership with the UN Habitat Philippines — has organized the first-ever Philippine Urban Forum, a localized version of the World Urban Forum, the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization.
The PhUF 2023 provides a venue for knowledge exchanges, dialogues and coordination among key stakeholders of sustainable urban development in the country.
It also featured a training session on sustainable urban governance, focusing on building
climate-resilient and bankable urban projects.
The training discussed sustainable urban governance for climate resilience, shared country ratings on institutional conditions for inclusive urban development, enhanced knowledge on climate-resilient and financially viable urban projects and fostered learning exchanges among stakeholders at different levels.
The event is co-organized by the German Agency for International Cooperation Urban Act Project, United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific and the Cities Development Initiative for Asia.
