The Office of the President recently sacked 13 officials that former President Rodrigo Duterte appointed to the Executive department, people familiar with the matter said over the weekend.
The appointees who were reportedly given the pink slip included Atty. Zeny Ferrolino-Enad, Dir. Roderic Gabia, Dir. James Mabilin, Assistant Executive Secretary Jone Rechie Gigayon, Dir. Aliza Marie Guilot- Salarda and Dir. James Juper Aguilar.
Other appointees that were reportedly axed included Dir. Florence Bantugan, Dir Roberto Bartuline Jr., Atty. Margarita Yu, Atty. Ramon Marcaida, Edmund Tayao of the National Coast Watch System, Generoso Bolina of the Anti-Terrorism Council Program Management Center, and Crisostomo Beltran of the Presidential Management Staff.
"Thirteen Duterte appointees were simply verbally informed that they were terminated from their jobs last Friday, 29 September," several insiders told DAILY TRIBUNE.
"There was no memo or written notice given to them," the insider added.
The purported sacking came as the current administration allegedly tried to get its way with a structure left over by the Duterte administration.
Malacañang, however, remained mum on Sunday about the issue.
