DAVAO CITY — Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday assisted President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the awarding of the Department of the Interior and Local Government's Comprehensive Social Benefits Program or CSBP here.
Dubbed as Pagpupugay sa mga Bayani ng Bansang Makabayan, the President led the ceremonial awarding to six beneficiaries. The CBSP aims to provide assistance to families of uniformed personnel killed or wounded while performing their duties.
It was in compliance with Executive Order 110 issued by former President Rodrigo Duterte in 2020. It provides different types of benefits and assistance such as financial, scholarship, social welfare, health and employment.
"CBSP stands as a living tribute to the bravery, gallantry and unwavering resilience demonstrated by the heroes of our nation in the face of adversity," Duterte said.
Through the CBSP, the government gives recognition to the men in uniform who dedicated and continue to dedicate their lives to the service and protection of the nation through immediate and long-term support to their families and beneficiaries.
She thanked those who took part in the gathering and called on them to move forward with gratitude, unity and service to the country.
Duterte also introduced the President, who directed all implementing agencies to ensure that the benefits and assistance would be immediately given to the beneficiaries.
Also present in the gathering were DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos, Health Secretary Ted Herbosa and Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo.
