Swift Basilan infra projects completion sought

LAMITAN CITY — Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim has ordered the Ministry of Public Work Basilan District Engineering Office to fast-track the completion of the "Kapayapaan sa Pamayanan" or "Kapyanan" housing project in Basilan province.
The BARMM chief minister ordered MPW-Basilan District Engineer Kasim Hasanin to fast-track the Kapyanan Core Shelters Housing Project for the mujahedeen in the province who does not have a house of their own.
Ebrahim asked Hasanin to order the contractors of the housing project to complete at least 400 housing units by the end of the year and immediately schedule the awarding of the units to the beneficiaries of the new homes.

To recall, BARMM has allotted P550 million for the construction of about 1,000 core shelters for victims of armed conflicts in this province under the Kapyanan program.
Hasanin explained that the completion of the housing project was delayed after the supplier of the construction materials failed to deliver the construction materials on time.
He added that the town of Akbar is a recipient of 25 housing units while Al-Barka will have 200 housing units; Hadji Mohammad Ajul with 125 units; Hadji Muhtamad with 25 units; Lantawan with 50 units; Maluso with 25 units; Sumisip with 250 units; Tabuan-Lasa with 25 units; Tipo-Tipo with 100 units; Tuburan with 25 units and Ungkaya Pukan with 50 units.
Each housing unit will have
42-square-meter floor area and will consist of three bedrooms, a sala, bathroom, a kitchen and a terrace.
