More than 11,000 Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) non-officers were promoted and took their oath before PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M. Abu, in a ceremony at the PCG National Headquarters on Monday, 18 September.
In his speech, Abu said the promotion is a testament not only to their competence and skill in their respective positions and roles in the PCG but importantly a reflection of their commitment to the organization and the reward of their immeasurable sacrifices in pursuit of the organization's duty to save lives and protect the marine environment.
"Always know that your every finished task, every completed assignment, and mission accomplished, no matter how small or menial these may seem to you, is significant to the organization as a whole, for what is the PCG's success but a collection of small contributions from our tireless men and women serving beyond the call of duty," the PCG commandant expressed.
"Promotions are not only recognitions of prior outstanding work. They are also an acknowledgment of your potential to do even better, outdo yourself, and surpass previous successes," he added.
"Again, let me express my congratulations. Your promotions are not just milestones in your careers. They are moments that inspire us all. We look forward to witnessing your continued success and contributions to our organizations," Abu concluded.
