In response to the growing traffic concerns around La Salle Greenhills, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has unveiled a temporary traffic scheme aimed at streamlining the morning drop-off process for students.

This initiative, set to commence on 4 September, is a collaborative effort between the MMDA and the school's management to alleviate congestion in the vicinity.

The traffic congestion around LSGH, particularly on Ortigas Avenue, has been a longstanding issue, especially during the morning rush. The sheer number of vehicles transporting students to the school has often resulted in gridlocks, prompting the need for a more efficient system.

Under the new scheme, several changes will be implemented.

One of the significant changes is the closure of Gate 4. This move is expected to redirect the flow of vehicles and reduce bottlenecks.

Motorists are advised to use Gate 5 as the main entrance. Upon entering, they should turn right and subsequently make a left at the pagoda.

The school has identified specific drop-off locations for students from grades 1 to 12. These include the front of the emergency bay, the entrance to the Senior High School building, and the gym ramp.

All vehicles are directed to exit through Gate 6. To ensure smooth traffic flow, only one lane will be maintained.

Those approaching from the EDSA flyover are advised to enter the school premises through Gate 6.

For motorists utilizing the U-turn slot, if merging with the line heading to Gate 4 proves challenging, they are encouraged to proceed directly to Gate 6.

This traffic management plan comes on the heels of an incident where an SUV was found parked in the middle of the road in front of LSGH, which went viral on social media.

The MMDA has since been proactive in addressing traffic concerns in the area, even considering collaborations with nearby subdivisions and malls for potential solutions.

Both the MMDA and LSGH management hope that this new scheme will not only improve traffic flow but also ensure the safety of students and motorists alike.

As the school year progresses, the effectiveness of this plan will be closely monitored, with adjustments made as necessary to further enhance morning commutes.
