Casio Computer Co. Ltd. recently announced the impending launch of its newest addition to the Edifice line of timepieces — a collaborative
endeavor with MUGEN, Honda's tuning and motorsports arm.
The watch, named ECB-40MU, is set to hit authorized Casio stores this month, with a suggested retail price of P24,950.
The venture marks the first collaboration between Edifice and Mugen, both stalwarts in their respective industries.
Mugen is not only renowned for manufacturing performance parts for Honda vehicles but is also deeply rooted in motorsports.
The company participates in the pinnacle of motorsport competitions like Formula 1 and the Isle of Man TT, a grueling motorcycle race that unfolds on the public roads of the Isle of Man.
Mugen's involvement in the racing world is not a newfound commitment; it has been a professional racing team and a player in Japan's top-tier racing events for decades.

Casio, on the other hand, has supported Mugen's racing endeavors since the motorcycle endurance race in 1985.
Tony Yiu, general manager of CSC Time Inc., commented on the collaboration, stating: "We are excited to share the newest timepiece in collaboration with Mugen.
"Just like how Mugen exhibits speed and intelligence, Edifice created a watch that will fit racers not only in style but also their lifestyle. Edifice is committed to continue bringing dynamic watch designs combined with cutting-edge technology to people."
Indeed, the ECB-40MU is designed with the motorsports aficionado in mind. It carries Mugen's signature colors — white, red, gold and black — infused into an overall dark canvas.
The Mugen brand logo and the Eye Commander logo, representing the spirit of MUGEN, are thoughtfully embossed onto the watch band, thereby tying the timepiece closely to its motorsports heritage.
In a nod to racing technology, the band incorporates material and design elements inspired by the suspension systems used in formula racing cars.
Further emphasizing the sporty aesthetic, the band is crafted from Alcantara — a material highly revered for its durability and breathability and commonly found gracing the interiors of high-performance sports cars.
