The number of enrollees in public and private schools for this school year continues to increase, Department of Education data showed.
Based on the agency's quick count enrollment data, as of 2 p.m. Saturday, a total of 25,197,656 students have enrolled for school year 2023-2024.
Calabarzon still topped the regions with the highest number of registrants with 3,722,481, followed by Central Luzon with 2,790,907, and the National Capital Region with 2,616,703.
The Cordillera Administrative Region has the lowest number of enrollees with 397,369.
Of the total 25.1 million enrollees, 21,587,531 were from public schools, 3,298,386 in private schools, 78,185 in local universities and colleges and state universities and colleges, and 233,554 in the Alternative Learning System.
There are also 15,483 enrollees in Philippine schools overseas.
The DepEd is expecting 28.8 million enrollees this school year.
Last school year, a total of 28.4 million learners were enrolled in elementary and secondary schools across the country.
