City of San Fernando, Pampanga — The Department of Agriculture in Central Luzon has distributed hauling trucks to farmer cooperatives on Tuesday at the Regional Field Office 3 here.
Under the Organic Agriculture Program, the distribution of hauling trucks was led by DA RFO 3 regional executive director Crispulo G. Bautista Jr. to farmer cooperative associations.
The provision of the hauling trucks is part of the project component of chosen FCA beneficiaries of the OAP Organic Agriculture Livelihood Project and under the project, one FCA in each province of Central Luzon will get assistance from the agency worth P5 million.
It also aims to boost the livelihood of the farmers by expanding their operation in organic farming.
One hauling truck was given to the Botolan Muna Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative of Zambales while two hauling trucks were received by the Sakalipunan ng mga Organikong Magsasaka of Nueva Ecija.
Each hauling truck has a value of P1.5 million and aims to provide a more efficient farming and delivery of high quality goods to the market.
