San Sebastian's newest recruit Migs Pascual is making a good impression in the preseason tournaments as the Stags are bracing for good future with the former Batang Gilas standout.

Stags head coach John Kallos shared his views to Daily Tribune and disclosed how he was impressed by Pascual, a point guard who previously played for University of the East in the Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines, but will sit out in the coming season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, while serving the league's residency rule.

"He has high basketball IQ and that's what impressed me the most," said Kallos, also the head coach of the Sarangani squad in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.

According to Kallos, Pascual is being groomed to take over the spot of their graduating players for next season and the preseason tournaments will be a good test to showcase his potential.

Pascual, a member of San Beda's juniors champion team in the NCAA in the pre-pandemic tournament, had shown a lot of promise, most notably in their game against the Red Lions where he led scoring honors with 20 points in the Stags' heartbreaking 73-74 loss to San Beda a few days ago in the Filoil-EcoOil Preseason Cup.

But Pascual has been doing  more than just scoring for the Stags as he had also displayed his leadership qualities, according to Kallos.

"His decision-making is above par. The kid has the talent and he plays like a veteran. He's not erratic," added Kallos. "He'll be a valuable piece of our future."

Pascual has been a key factor for San Sebastian's ongoing preseason tournaments.
