Senator Bong Go said Gilas Pilipinas' "revenge win" in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games is going to be an impetus when the country embarks on the Fiba World Cup slated later here this year.
Isa itong morale booster para sa ating koponan na sasabak rin sa FIBA World Cup ngayong taon," he said.
Go, chair of the Senate Committee on Sports, also expressed his admiration for all the athletes who competed in the biennial games and brought home 58 gold medals, 86 silvers, and 116 bronzes.
The Philippines finished fifth overall.
