Carlos Yulo sustained his momentum as he qualified for the finals of two apparatuses in the FIG World Cup in Doha on Friday at the Aspire Dome.
The 23-year-old Tokyo Olympian made it to the finals of vault and parallel bars, giving him a handsome chance of grabbing another World Cup medal.
Yulo is competing in the final of the floor exercise at press time while the finals in the vault and parallel bars are set on Sunday.
After a forgettable stint in the Cottbus edition of the World Cup last February, the pride of Manila dominated the vault event with a commanding 14.8 points while Artur Davytan of Armenia and Minami Kazuki of Japan settled for second and third places, respectively, with 14.766 and 14.566 points, respectively.

In the parallel bars, Yulo scored an impressive 14.933 points to lead the preliminaries.

Gymnastics Association of the Philippines Cynthia Carrion is impressed at how her top gymnast made a turnaround in the World Cup.
"He is doing very well. He is first in qualification for floor, vault and parallel bars. He just missed rings," Carrion told Daily Tribune in an online conversation.
"Hope he keeps it up!"
Another Filipino gymnast in Juancho Miguel Besana placed 29th in the men's vault after qualifying in the final back in the first leg.
While he might not have gotten another finals stint in Doha, he is using this tournament to prepare for the upcoming 19th Asian Games this September in Hangzhou, China.
