Kelvin Miranda is choosing his career over his love life.

In a media conference for his new single "Sumayaw," the 23-year-old singer said: "With the status of my career right now, it's hard to let someone in. It's okay to talk to someone casually, but I don't think I can handle the responsibilities of an intimate relationship right now.

When you get into a relationship, it's not just there. You will have obligations and responsibilities to meet with your partner. It's hard… I'm scared of facing that right now," he added.

Despite his aversions, "Sumayaw" talks about letting loose and going with the flow.

Compared to "Slow Dance," a single he released in 2021 that talks about asking your person for a second chance, "Sumayaw" is Miranda and composer Viktor Nhiko Sabiniano's metaphor for happiness
— both in love and life.

The lyrics go: Halina't sumayaw sa tinig ng kahapon / Huwag ka bumitaw, malaya na tayo / Sa mga alaalang humahadlang sa 'ting pagsinta / Hayaang ibigay sa'yo ang tadhana.

"'Sumayaw' sends a message of letting things take place… letting the wind take things where it's meant to be. People also dance when they are happy… that's why I also see it from a different angle," he said. "Sometimes, you have to loosen up to go with the flow of work, friendships, and other people you'll come across. It doesn't have to be serious all the time."

Miranda also shared how the single is part of their experiment for finding the genre he'll work with moving forward.

"My manager Tyronne Escalante and I are talking about the path we'll take for my music career. 'Sumayaw' is part of our exploration… if this genre fits me or not. It's hard but I enjoyed the process of creating this piece.

"If I'll be given more opportunities in the coming years, I hope my music career flourishes," he added.

"Sumayaw" has garnered 1,423 streams on Spotify while its recording video on YouTube has gained 2,163 views as of writing. Stream the song on all digital platforms.
