Elements of the Southern Police District anti-drugs unit arrested in Taguig City five drug personalities, including a small-town lottery operator.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11, Art. 2 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, following their arrest along Kalayaan Street, Barangay Ususan around 10 p.m. Thursday.
Brig. General Kirby John Brion Kraft, director of SPD, identified the suspects as Romeo Casio, 53 years old, tricycle driver; John Rassel Cruz, 21, construction worker, Carl Allen Cortez, 26, STL operator; Jemarc Culo, 30, food delivery rider; and Alejandro Reyes, 37, a construction worker.
Joint elements of the police conducted a buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspects.
Confiscated from them were five sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 20 grams valued at P136,000, two plastic sachets containing high-grade marijuana weighing more or less four grams, valued at P5,600, one caliber .38 revolver, four live ammunition and one P500 bill utilized as buy-bust money.
The suspects were brought to SPD DDEU Office for documentation and disposition.
