A group of non-teaching personnel on Thursday called on the Department of Education to make the distribution of service recognition incentive easier and convenient for employees.
Department of Education National Employees Union president Atty. Domingo Alidon stressed that the DepEd should not use the DepEd Enterprise Resource Planning System] registration/update as prerequisite to receive SRI.
Such requirement, according to Alidon, is not enshrined under Administrative Order No.1, s.2022.
"That DERPS registrations only slows down the release of the SRI. Here at the central office, instead of releasing it faster, the payments take longer," Alidon said.
The DepEd earlier said that each eligible employee will receive P15,000 worth of SRI.
The group likewise expressed its appreciation to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for signing Administrative Order 1 s. 2022 on SRI for government personnel.
"At least the employees from public sector are happy this Christmas. We hope this will be practice in the future and continue for the next few years," Alidon said.
"It would be even better if it could be enacted into law to ensure that this would be given to public workers every year," he added.
