Filipino oil company Phoenix Petroleum's prototype solution reimaging the customer refueling experience won an Amazon Web Services Innovate X Action accelerator contest in the Philippines. The win further strengthens Phoenix's drive to advance its customer experience through innovative cloud solutions.
The prototype leverages Phoenix's existing LIMITLESS app-based lifestyle rewards program, providing over 300,000 members with benefits like fuel discounts and loyalty points for retail purchases.
"It is a great honor to win the AWS Innovate X Action accelerator. The program aligns with Phoenix's direction to be an industry game-changer by staying sensitive to our customer's evolving needs," said Phoenix chief digital officer Charlie Valerio. "The program has been a great learning experience for us, and we will implement the processes from the accelerator to explore and implement more innovative and customer-centric digital solutions using AWS."
LIMITLESS is central to Phoenix's transformation of the customer experience through digitization and is part of the company's strategy to connect with and delight customers 24/7. The new refueling solution is designed to take this experience one step further to make customers' lives easier. Phoenix was awarded $10,000 worth of AWS credits to advance the prototype of the refueling experience for the LIMITLESS app.
The AWS Innovate X Action program is an AWS-led innovation accelerator that offers selected customers the chance to apply Amazon's working backward mechanism to turn a pressing business problem into a solution.
Winners are awarded prizes to help bring their solutions to life. Launched in June 2022, the program leverages the exact mechanisms, tools, and methodologies used by Amazon to innovate for its customers. It has helped hundreds of businesses around the globe innovate and bring new products and services to market.
In the AWS Innovate X Action accelerator, different participating organizations engaged in a two-day workshop and contest centered on ideating and innovating around customer needs.
"AWS is pleased to be a part of this journey with Phoenix Petroleum to give their customers the best experiences when they fuel up. Congratulations to Phoenix Petroleum for winning the Philippine leg of AWS Innovate X Action, challenging themselves to bring to life an inventive idea using digital innovations on the cloud to help delight their customers across the retail, oil and gas businesses," said Stephen Thomas Misa, country head, president and chairman at AWS in the Philippines.
