COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Board of Investments approved an off-grid energy project worth P75 million in Tawi-Tawi province as the Kaltimex Rural Energy Corporation — the company behind the project — wants to expand an off-grid diesel power plant.
The expansion is situated on 2.7 hectares of property around five kilometers from Bongao town and the eight-megawatt off-grid diesel power plant is expected to supply Tawi-Tawi Electric Cooperative of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
The company's project would generate 48 job employments, both direct and indirect jobs.
"The P1.3-B total approved investments for this year (2022) indicate the improving investment environment in the region and the economy is humming back to life with industry conditions becoming stable," said newly-appointed BBoI chairman Mohamad Omar Pasigan.
