BAGUIO CITY — Two municipalities of the Mountain Province agree to settle their long-standing boundary dispute to iron out differences and push progress in both the social and economic activities in their respective territories.
In a recent dialogue of the two local government units of Bontoc and Sagada, the officials agreed to amend the Cadastral Survey conducted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in 2012 in Fedilisan, Sagada and the 2014 Cadastral Survey in Dalican, Bontoc.
To achieve it, the two LGUs committed to pass Sangguniang Bayan Resolutions pushing the move.
The resolutions will then be endorsed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to the DENR for immediate action.
The agreement was done at the Sagada Municipal Hall.
To recall, in 1999, members of Fedilisan tribe and Dalican tribe waged a bloody war against each other over the control a critical water source between their territories.
