The local government of Paranaque will give Christmas gift cheques worth P1,000 to 13,000 persons with disabilities, according to City Mayor Eric Olivarez.

The local government of Paranaque will give Christmas gift cheques worth P1,000 to 13,000 persons with disabilities, according to City Mayor Eric Olivarez.
The mayor disclosed the distribution of Christmas gift cheques to PWDs in the city's 16 barangays will start on 11 December and will end on 17 December, adding that the distribution of gift cheques is part of his administration's commitment to improve the quality of life of all constituents, especially the poor and disadvantaged members of society.
"We want our PWDs to feel that they are being cared for, especially this Christmas season," Olivarez said.
"The P1,000 gift cheques will enable them to purchase essential items and perhaps some food for the traditional Noche Buena on Christmas Eve," he added.
Aside from the gift cheques for Christmas, Olivarez said that the PWDs will also receive other forms of assistance from the city government on a regular basis.
Last month, a total of 615 students with disabilities were given school supplies by the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office under Dr. Sabas de Guzman as part of the National Children's Month celebrations.
Special education students in 11 SPED schools in the city also receive a P500 monthly allowance.
