Former Batangas Vice Gov. Richard "Ricky" Recto was found dead in his house in Pasig on 5 December, his daughter Raina Recto-Galang confirmed.
He would have turned 60 on 11 December.
Recto was the elder brother of Batangas 6th District Rep. Ralph Recto.
A police report on the incident said Galang sent out a Viber message to the Pasig police substation, asking assistance to verify the condition of her father — who had been incommunicado.
Galang, accompanied by police officers, found Recto's lifeless body in his bedroom, sitting on a La-Z-Boy, a pillow on his chest and holding a pistol in his right hand.
Recto's body was already in a state of decomposition.
