After completing his Covid-19 quarantine, actor/television host Ferdinand "Vhong" Navarro is now confined with other persons deprived of liberty at the Taguig City Jail Male Dormitory in Camp Bagong Diwa.
Jail Senior Insp. Hernand Macoy of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-National Capital Region said Navarro completed his seven-day Covid-19 quarantine last Monday, 28 November.
Navarro is now detained in his cell with other PDLs. The jail official said earlier the Taguig City Jail would determine if there is a security threat on Navarro inside the facility.
The TV host has raised the issue of security threat against him if he was transferred to the Taguig City Jail in a motion he filed with the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69 seeking his continued detention at the National Bureau of Investigation detention center in Manila.
The request though was denied by the court.
On 21 November, Navarro was transferred to the Taguig City Jail from the NBI detention center in Manila based on a commitment order issued by the Taguig court.
The court is handling Navarro's rape case filed by model Deniece Cornejo through the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office.
Navarro underwent a medical exam upon his arrival at the Taguig City Jail, to check on his health status.
Navarro, who is fully vaccinated, was quarantined and isolated in compliance with Covid-19 health protocols being implemented in the BJMP jails.
Since 19 September, Navarro has been in detention when the Taguig RTC Branch 69 issued a non-bailable warrant of arrest against him for the rape case.
