The National Youth Commission and the Armed Forces of the Philippines recently organized an educational tour of 373 youth leaders from all over the country at the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio City.
The tour aims to educate the youth on matters related to national security challenges, Filipino culture and patriotism and a chance to inform and encourage aspiring youth leaders to become PMA cadets or AFP Reservists.
Delegates included Sangguniang Kabataan presidents, cadets from the PNP Academy, and ROTC Corps Commanders who had the chance to interact with PMA cadets.
The participants toured PMA facilities, joined in the noon mess, learned rifle and pistol marksmanship lessons and competed in obstacle courses along with the cadets and performed the traditional Parade, Review and Silent Drill exhibitions to highlight the four-day activity.
The educational tour was seen as an opportunity to orient the participants on the role of the PMA in peace, security, and nation-building, as well as inspire the youth to join the military service.
It was also a chance for the PMA leadership to sustain its collaboration with the NYC and showcase the world-class military academy.
